Let's write a story!
A few hours later....
"Finally", Yaakov leaned back in the luxurious leather seat. "I can't believe we are on the way."
Dina smiled softly and closed her eyes. The kids were busy checking out the games on the screens so she had a little time. She tried not to think about all the changes in her life. She blocked out all thoughts and fell into a gentle sleep. Sweet dreams....for now.

Alas, her dreams were not so sweet. She dreamed of the last time she'd seen Pinny. They were sitting in a restaurant on the moon (though in real life they'd been in Brooklyn), and Dina was describing the new house in North Dakota. They smiled. But then, Pinny said something that changed the tone of the conversation. "I am surprised that Tatty is suddenly willing to move to the jungle of Outside-Of-Boro-Park," he said in what he probably intended as a joking tone. It was no longer a lighthearted conversation between mother and son. The air felt heavy. Pinny's hair spontaneously caught fire, and Dina feared that it would burn her brand new space sheitel (which also hadn't happened in real life). She opened her mouth to explain and tell him how much the years had changed Yaakov, and how much he regretted losing Pinny, but she suddenly woke up, fraught with guilt.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Pinny and the rest of Squadron 3234jdic were running out of time. That was the real reason Pinny was back with the trainees and temps: they kept an extra supply in their briefcases, and he needed to borrow it.
So, right about now is the time for a bit of a recap or list of characters. Here is what we know so far:
Yaakov and Dina are moving into a new house in Stanley, North Dakota. They are moving there with twelve of their children, the ones who live with them. They also have two married children, one of whom is staying at their new guest house, and a son named Pinny, who is estranged from his father.
Pinny is now part of Squadron 3234jdic (Unit xw393). A team of fake construction workers is somehow involved. They have reached Stage 2. There is another team associated with Squadron 3234jdic that is on a practice mission. Their mission is led by KBZ3N21, who is directing them to send messages through oatmeal cookies. Some (or perhaps all) of their team are actual construction workers who were misled into thinking that they were being enlisted to work for the government in secret. However, that is true in some way.

Time. Ever since Bea Anne Thyme discovered how to package it the world changed drastically. Time soon became the most precious commodity, with numerous competing corporations. Unfortunately, however, one company soon gained control of the market. Kron-O soon controlled almost all the Time in the world. Still, it remained a corporation shrouded in mystery. Who was in charge? That was a mystery no one could solve.
Nobody except the people at Kron-O. And some hold-outs who refused to purchase Kron-O's product.

Back on his mission, Pinchas thought to himself that though it was necessary for him at the moment, perhaps time shouldn't be a secret product sold to government agencies and other discreet groups sworn to secrecy. Such a technology should be put to other uses, like allowing teenage girls to take extra classes at school. Still, he saw no way around the situation. He was just grateful for the natural restrictions that prevented the product from being used for evil. If it were possible to use more than one hour per twenty-four hour period, or if groups of more than ten people could synchronize their use of it... He shuddered to think of the possibilities. But he himself was on borrowed time, and he also did not like to think of the position he'd be in if it were fully banned.

Yaakov and Dina were getting ready to deplane when Yaakov got an urgent text message. It was from work. There was an emergency remote meeting. He was annoyed, but at least he had cut back his hours to 11 AM to 3 PM on Mondays. This was likely to be the only exception. The problem: his laptop was at the house, a three hour drive away. "Dina, I have to borrow your laptop and use the plane's WiFi for ten minutes. Is that okay?" he asked.
"Fine, but uninstall the client software afterward. It's ridiculous. It slows down the computer much more than anything should be able to do to a good computer! Why do companies like Kron-O insist on making their own slow, buggy alternative to Google Meet?"

The reason, of course, was for security. For a secret corporation like Kron-O, security was of the utmost importance. In fact, the vast majority of Kron-O employees did not even know that they were working for Kron-O. Of those who knew, few of them even knew what Kron-O did. All information was on a need-to-know basis.
